I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Illinois and the Director of Stolte Psychological Services, PLLC. My clinical work now centers on comprehensive psychological assessment and diagnostic clarification for adults, with particular emphasis on ADHD evaluations, autism spectrum assessment, and complex or overlapping psychiatric presentations.
Many individuals seek assessment after years of feeling misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or unsure why prior therapy or medication has not fully addressed their concerns. I specialize in helping adults make sense of long-standing patterns involving attention, emotional regulation, interpersonal functioning, trauma exposure, and coping strategies. My approach to assessment is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practice, with the goal of providing clear explanations and practical recommendations that meaningfully inform next steps.
I earned my M.A. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University and completed extensive training in both psychotherapy and psychological assessment across a range of clinical settings, including Advocate Christ Medical Hospital, Linden Oaks Behavioral Hospital, and my predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the James A. Lovell Federal Health Care System. I currently work as a psychologist within the VA healthcare system, where I routinely evaluate and treat individuals with complex clinical presentations involving trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, attentional difficulties, anger, and emotional numbing. This experience informs a nuanced, trauma-informed approach to assessment, particularly when symptoms overlap or have been present for many years.
While the primary focus of my practice is psychological testing, I offer limited psychotherapy services for adults whose needs are well suited to targeted or time-limited treatment. My therapeutic work draws from evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and is guided by careful attention to each individual’s strengths, values, and goals.
Across all services, I strive to provide a calm, respectful, and non-judgmental environment. Clients often describe my style as grounded and relational, and I place strong emphasis on helping individuals better understand themselves, build effective strategies, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
